Building a Dream

Building a Dream

Many times, we refer to something we hope to do someday as a dream—something that feels distant, almost unimaginable, as a real outcome. That is exactly where my journey toward developing a massage school began.

I found myself daydreaming about lessons I could create, hands-on activities I could design, and meaningful ways to help students truly understand the human body—not just memorize it. As a professional massage therapist actively working in the field, I gained insight that school had only taken me so far. While my education gave me a strong foundation, it taught me very little about the realities of day-to-day life in the massage therapy profession.

That gap became my motivation.

I began turning the gears internally, asking myself how I could challenge the traditional model of textbook-only learning and better prepare students for the real-world experiences they would face the moment they graduated. I wanted education to meet reality—to blend knowledge with lived experience.

What once felt like a distant dream slowly became a real decision point when my husband and I were faced with the opportunity to purchase a larger clinic. That moment opened the door for my dream to step into reality. I took a leap of faith and jumped in.

Applying for the school to be recognized as a business entity was straightforward. However, pursuing state accreditation in Indiana required something deeper—resilience, patience, and unwavering commitment. The process demanded significant time, energy, and financial investment, but each step strengthened my resolve.

Today, that dream is no longer hypothetical—it is real.

Throughout this journey, Ive held tightly to a phrase that has guided me since I first graduated from massage therapy school: Success is only a leap of faith away.” At the time, I loved how it sounded, but more importantly, it made me feel empowered about my future. I knew I was called to do something meaningful in the massage therapy industry, even though I couldnt yet see what it would look like.

If there is one thing I hope to pass on, it is this: allow yourself to dream—and when you do, dream big. You dont just owe that dream to yourself; you owe it to the Lord who placed it on your heart. He gives us dreams so that, through our work, we can serve others and further His kingdom in whatever path we are called to walk.

Your dream may feel far away today—but it might be only one faithful leap from becoming your reality.
