Courses
Module One: Introduction to Massage Therapy
This foundational module introduces students to the history, philosophy, and fundamental principles of massage therapy while developing an understanding of the musculoskeletal system—the framework that supports all body movement. Students will explore the structure and function of muscles, bones, and connective tissues as they relate to massage practice. Emphasis is placed on learning and performing basic Swedish massage techniques, including effleurage, petrissage, friction, and tapotement, to promote relaxation, circulation, and overall wellness. By the end of this module, students will have a strong grasp of anatomy basics and hands-on skills necessary to begin providing safe, effective, and professional full-body Swedish massages.

Module Two: Weight of the World – The Neck
In this module, students will explore the intricate anatomy and physiology of the neck with a specific emphasis on the musculoskeletal system. Learners will study how the bones, joints, and muscles of the cervical region work together to support posture, movement, and structural stability. Through focused study and hands-on practice, students will examine how stress, poor posture, and muscular tension can affect the function and comfort of the neck, often contributing to pain, tightness, and reduced mobility. Students will also be introduced to Craniosacral Therapy techniques that use gentle, precise touch to release restrictions within the cranial and cervical structures, supporting improved alignment and ease of movement. By the end of this module, students will understand how to effectively address the “weight of the world” carried in the neck—helping clients experience relief, enhanced mobility, and greater musculoskeletal balance overall.

Module Three: Star of the Show – The Head and Face
This module highlights the head and face as the “star of the show,” exploring both their anatomical complexity and their vital role in expression, communication, and overall health. Students will study the endocrine system, gaining an understanding of how hormonal balance influences stress, mood, and physical function. Practical skills include sinus drainage techniques to support respiratory health and relieve congestion, along with aromatherapy applications that enhance relaxation and emotional well-being through the use of essential oils. Students will gain an understanding of the nervous system and its role in coordinating movement, sensation, and communication throughout the body. By integrating anatomy, physiology, and sensory-based therapies, students will learn how to create soothing, rejuvenating treatments that restore harmony to both body and mind.

Module Four: The Shoulders, Arms, and Hands
This module explores the intricate anatomy and function of the shoulders, arms, and hands—key areas of strength, movement, and daily function. Students will study the respiratory system to understand how breathing influences relaxation, oxygen exchange, and overall physical performance, as well as the cardiovascular system to learn how blood flow, circulation, and vascular health impact the upper body and its soft tissues. Practical instruction centers on hot stone and cold stone massage techniques, teaching students how temperature therapy can reduce tension, enhance circulation, and promote balance within the musculoskeletal structures. By the end of this module, students will be able to integrate these thermal modalities with skilled, mindful touch to deliver deeply restorative upper-body treatments.

Module Five: The Core – Back and Trunk
In this module, students will focus on the powerhouse of the body—the back and trunk—where strength, posture, and stability originate. The digestive system will be explored to reveal how nutrient absorption and core organ function influence muscle performance, energy levels, and overall wellness. Students will also study the integumentary system to understand the skin’s essential role in protection, sensation, and temperature regulation, as well as its importance in effective and safe therapeutic touch. Students will study and apply neuromuscular massage techniques to address tension patterns, improve mobility, and support optimal function in the core region. Through a blend of anatomical study and hands-on practice, this module empowers students to understand and treat the body’s central support system—enhancing structural balance, soft-tissue function, and internal vitality.

Module Six: Hips and Glutes
This module centers on the hips and glutes—the foundation of balance, movement, and stability—while exploring their connection to the reproductive system and overall vitality. Students will gain an understanding of how reproductive health influences physical and emotional well-being across all stages of life. Practical instruction includes specialized techniques in prenatal, geriatric, and infant massage, focusing on safety, positioning, and adapting touch to meet the unique needs of each population. By integrating anatomy, physiology, and compassionate care, students will learn how to provide nurturing, supportive treatments that honor the body’s changing needs through every season of life.

Module Seven: Legs and Feet
In this module, students will explore the powerful yet often overworked legs and feet—the body’s foundation for movement, grounding, and stability. Instruction covers the urinary system and lymphatic system, emphasizing their vital roles in detoxification, fluid balance, and overall health. Students will gain hands-on experience in sports massage, cupping therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, and reflexology, learning how each modality supports recovery, circulation, and energy flow. By the end of this module, students will be able to integrate these advanced techniques to reduce swelling, enhance athletic performance, and promote holistic wellness from the ground up.

Module Eight: Business and Ethics
In this final module, students will prepare for professional success by exploring the foundations of business management, ethics, and professional development within the massage therapy industry. Topics include establishing a practice, client communication, record keeping, marketing, and maintaining professional boundaries. Students will also be introduced to global healing traditions through hands-on instruction in Reiki, Shiatsu, Thai massage, Ashiatsu, and Acupressure (Asian bodywork). This combination of business acumen and advanced therapeutic modalities equips students to enter the field with confidence, integrity, and a holistic understanding of bodywork practices that honor both client care and practitioner well-being.

Module Nine: Clinical Practicum and MBLEX Review
This capstone module allows students to apply everything they’ve learned in a supervised clinical setting, gaining real-world experience by performing professional massages on clients. Emphasis is placed on refining massage techniques, developing confidence in client interaction, and demonstrating professional ethics and communication. Students will also complete a comprehensive review of the entire body’s anatomy, physiology, and massage modalities in preparation for the MBLEx licensing exam. By the conclusion of this module, students will be fully equipped with the knowledge, skill, and professionalism needed to transition from student to licensed massage therapist, ready to begin a rewarding career in the field.
